Gun Case

I have a couple AR-15s and since they're a little taller than other rifles and shotguns, they wouldn't fit in my regular gun cases. I always needed to break them down and use my biggest plastic hard case. This seemed like a problem that could be solved by woodworking!

This case features dovetails at the corners, plywood that sits fully recessed in rabbets (as to hide the veneers), and egg-crate gun case foam inside. It stays closed with clasps similar to those used on guitar cases. I decided to go outside my comfort zone and try to add some paint. It seems ok.
